Twix candy bar is part of a famous family Mars. Inc. It was produced in the UK in 1967. under the name Raider and came to the USA only 12 years later. Candy was renamed Twix in the late 90s of the last century. The name Twix is a combination of words – twin + bix (bix = biscuit), and somewhere says twin + stix. Of course, with years of production came variations on the theme. It has kept its form, but now it can be found in a variety of sizes (from mini to the max). There are those with coconut, mint, peanut butter, cereals… And also in the version of the beverage and ice cream. Twix is kosher and halal sweet.
This is my recipe for homemade Twix cookies. When I merged biscuits, caramel and add the chocolate, I got a recipe for happiness.
Homemade Twix Cookies
Print RecipeIngredients
- DOUGH
- 250 g all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 egg
- 125 g softened butter
- 40 g powdered sugar
- 10 g vanilla sugar
- CHOCOLATE & CARAMEL LAYER
- jar of Dulce de Leche
- 200-300 g of dark chocolate (70% cocoa)
Instructions
Put flour, baking powder, powdered sugar, vanilla sugar and butter in a bowl.
Hands "rub" butter in the other ingredients and add the egg.
Knead until you get a compact dough.
Wrap the dough in plastic bag and leave in the refrigerator 1.5-2 hours.
Roll the chilled dough on a floured surface. Roll out dough as thin as possible (2-3 mm), because it will rise during baking.
Cut the dough in shape you like or cut into equal strips if you want them to look like the original candies.
Preheat the oven to 180C (ventilation).
Bake biscuits for 7-8 minutes. They should remain white and crisp, but of course baked. After 8 minutes, remove them from the oven and let them cool.
Spread caramel (dulce de leche) over chilled (baked) biscuits and place on the grid.
Then melt chocolate on steam or in the microwave. Use a microwave safe bowl and watch so that the chocolate does not burn.
Pour the chocolate over biscuits and caramel.
Keep in the refrigerator.
